Welcome to Elderfield Ritual Skills Guide

Welcome to Elderfield Ritual Skills Guide

By Editorial / September 12, 2026 / Guide / 2 minutes of reading

I use Rituals for combat and utility throughout Welcome to Elderfield. Some Rituals can also be used outside battle, while others help me deal damage, improve my defenses, or gain useful effects during fights.

I start with Energy Blast and Guard, but I can find, buy, or earn the other Rituals as I explore different areas. This guide covers the Rituals I can unlock, where I find them, and what each one does.

How to Unlock Ritual Skills in Welcome to Elderfield

Early / Easy Rituals

Energy Blast – Combat

  • How: I receive it at the start of the game.
  • Cost: 2 MP.
  • Effect: I fire a weak shot of energy.

Warp – Utility

  • How: I go to Mall F1 and enter Ultra Video, the first shop after I walk in. I talk to the Shopper on the far right by the SALE / camera display.
  • Cost: Free.
  • Effect: I warp home.

Mall Vending Machine Tomes

I buy these tomes from the Mall vending machine:

  • Lesser Mending: 25g – I restore 20 HP, gain +1 Recovery, and can use it outside battle. Costs 10 MP.
  • Cosmic Premonition: 50g – I reduce enemy Attack and Defense by 20% for 3 turns and gain +1 Recovery.
  • Torrent of Darkness: 100g – I deal Darkness damage to all enemies.

The same machine also has combat skill tomes, including All or Nothing (25g) and Heavy Blow (5 MP).

Dark Shield

Dark Shield – Combat

  • How: I defeat the Office Slime in front of the Mall F1 Hallway door in the southern snack / hallway area. I loot its Ritual tome.
  • Cost: 3 MP.
  • Effect: I gain +20% Defense and Magic Defense for 3 turns and +1 Recovery.

Later Story / Area Rituals

  • Dark Blast: I receive it from Old Man Jackson after Build-A-Wife. Costs 5 MP, deals Darkness damage, gives +1 Fatal, and may Hex.
  • Ghost Blast: I receive it from Pete, the laundry ghost, in the apartment laundry room. Costs 5 MP, deals Curse damage, gives +1 Fatal, and may Fear.
  • Energizing Blast: I find it in the Library. It has a 15% chance to generate 1 AP.
  • Pumpkin Blast: I get it after opening chamber doors in the Old Woods.
  • Chaos Thorns: I get it after opening chamber doors in the Sewers. The wiki spells this as Chaos Torns.

Tip

I grab Warp early if I explore the Mall. Getting home for free after a bad run is worth the Ultra Video detour.
