Iron Nest Heavy Turret Simulator: Cat Guide

By Editorial / August 8, 2026 / Guide / 3 minutes of reading

This guide explains how to enable, interact, and customize my beautiful furry friend living inside the Iron Nest. I explain you everything you need to know about your feline companion, probably. I cover how to enable the cat, customize its appearance, find it when it disappears, move it out of the way, and whether it can actually help me with the important business of operating the Iron Nest.

Cat Guide

The cat can wander around the Iron Nest, and I can control where it goes through the options menu. I can also customize its appearance and use a couple of controls to move it when it gets in the way.

How to Enable the Cat

When I first boot the game, I press Esc to bring up the clipboard. From there, I click Options, and my furry friend should already be enabled by default.

I can also allow the cat upstairs by using the checkbox in the same options section. This lets my feline companion wander around more areas of the Iron Nest.

How to Customize the Cat

I can customize the cat from the same options menu. Right below the cat options from the previous section, I find the customization section.

IRON NEST cat customization options

There are all sorts of different customization options available, so I can get the cat as close as possible to my personal feline fellow sitting right next to a platinum standard crater maker.

Where to Find the Cat

Our favorite Monarchist kitty can wander around the personal quarters down below, or all over the Iron Nest if I allow them upstairs in the options.

If I need the kitty around me this second, I can open the cat customization section shown in the previous section and then click out of it again. After doing this, the kitty should spawn right next to the hatch downstairs.

My Cat Is “In the Way”

When I need the cat to scamper away so I can more efficiently prevent imminent catastrophic failure from a counter artillery battery, I have a couple of options.
